"Healthy Love"

Earlier this Spring clients came to a class on how to have and maintain healthy relationships. The class was held in Saraland and was led by speakers from the Penelope House.

The mission of Penelope House is to provide safety, protection, and support to the victims of Domestic Violence and their children through the provision of shelter, advocacy, and individual and community education.

A Person's A Person...

 

Children of Indian Springs Baptist Church came to the Women's Resource Center in Saraland for a tour and to lend a helping hand. While they were here they learned about all life being precious to God. Jessica read "Horton Hears A Who" to teach them that life is to be protected and that "a person's a person, no matter how small".

Helping Hands in North Mobile

Helping Hands is a ministry of Satsuma First Baptist. This amazing group of women purchase fabric and spend each Tuesday sewing, quilting, and knitting baby items for clients of the Women's Resource Center in Saraland. Each year the group also works on items to be placed for auction at our Spring Banquet. These women are a true blessing and we are so thankful for all that they do.

Disciple Now in Saraland

First Baptist North Mobile held a community wide disciple now weekend for middle and highschool students. The Women's Resource Center was able to set up an information booth and share with a group of young women that were in attendance. On Saturday afternoon the students that attended from Shiloh Baptist Church came to the Saraland Center to take a tour and volunteer sorting through donations of baby items and making informational packets for clients.

Home School Students Give Back

A few weeks ago a home school group in the Mobile, Al came to our Saraland Center to volunteer their time. The students and parents toured the center and then helped us by putting together informational packets for clients and organizing our baby closet.

 

Car Seat Safety

 

In December and January Lt. Smith, of Saraland Police Department, led an Advanced Earn While You Learn class on car seat safety at the Saraland Chamber of Commerce.

Graduates

We are so proud of our recent Earn While You Learn Graduates! These young ladies faithfully attended classes, completing all of the Earn While You Lean course work and Bible Study program.
