Sav-A-Life at Wee-Exchange
Sav-A-Life went to Wee-Exchange yesterday! Ina & Tracey (the EWYL directors) along with JoLynn, director at the Downtowner Center went to Wee-Exchange yesterday to go shopping!!
About Wee-Exchange:
Susan Hightower and Dennise Allred started Wee Exchange in March of 1995. They started with 30 consignors and now have up to 1000 participate each sale with 2000 active consignors. They view this sale as a service to the community and to moms like who want to dress their children beautifully, but don't want to spend more money than is necessary. Several times a year they open stores with new, current merchandise. www.wee-exchange.com

Our Wonderful Volunteer Receptionists
Sharon (left) is a wonderful volunteer receptionist on Thursdays. She helps with so many things: the phone, greeting clients, correcting my Excel files!! And Joyce (right) has been around the ministry for years. She oversees some EWYL Classes on Sat. and the Labor & Delivery Classes (the next L&D class begins in October) . Then on Friday mornings she helps by greeting people who come through the front door and answers the phone. Thank you ladies. I'll post the Tuesday volunteer next week.

Our Very Own Ina at the Baptist Association
Ina, our EWYL director, was invited to speak at the Baptist Association. She share several things with them including our EWYL parenting program and the new fatherhood initiative program. Because she is from Peru and speaks Spanish, we are able to offer our programs to the Spanish community also. Good job, Ina!!

"Man Up", A Fatherhood Initiative Begins!!!
The Women's Resource Center/Sav-A-Life has the Earn While You Learn program for both parents. But fathers now have their very own program to attend. "Man Up" is a Fatherhood Initiative mentoring program to help men learn:
* Parenting skills
* The importance of instilling positive self-esteem in their children and
* The value of being and staying married
We are very excited about this new program begining. Last night was a great planning meeting. The first session for the new "Dads-to-be" is August 21.
